WAVUS (336060) announced on
August 6 that it is accelerating its transformation from a systems integration
(SI)-focused company into an AI platform company as part of a new growth
strategy centered on artificial intelligence.
In a shareholder letter
issued by its co-CEOs, the company outlined its mid- to long-term growth
strategy and its policy direction for enhancing corporate and shareholder
value.
Over the past two decades,
WAVUS has played a leading role in the digital transformation of South Korea’s
geospatial information sector through major national projects, including the
Korea Real Estate Administration Intelligence System (KRAS) and the K-Geo
Platform.
More recently, the company
has continued to expand its presence in future growth sectors, securing
contracts for the Korea Airports Corporation’s elevated digital vertiport
platform and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation’s enterprise-wide AI
transformation, or AX, platform.
Despite these achievements,
WAVUS believes that its current share price does not fully reflect the value of
its assets or its future growth potential. The company has therefore introduced
a value-up strategy aimed at repositioning itself in the market not simply as a
traditional systems integrator, but as a provider of AI solutions and AI agent
services.
As part of this strategy,
WAVUS plans to expand AI agent services specialized in legal, licensing and
regulatory approval processes, based on its proprietary GeOnAI v1.0 platform.
The company also intends to
enhance GeOnPaaS, its cloud-based geospatial information platform, by adding a
broader range of services. Through these efforts, WAVUS aims to enter new markets
and diversify its revenue streams.
WAVUS will also accelerate
the commercialization of major government-funded research and development
projects in areas including AI-powered urban safety, digital twins and urban
air mobility (UAM) traffic management.
Through these initiatives,
the company aims to establish a stable business portfolio that is less exposed
to economic fluctuations and to strengthen its position as a high-value-added
AI platform company.
WAVUS also plans to enhance
its communication with the capital markets. The company will expand its
investor relations function, conduct regular non-deal roadshows and increase
engagement with investors.
It also plans to broaden its
interaction with the media and institutional investors in order to more
actively communicate its business performance and growth strategy.
The company is also
reviewing potential shareholder return measures. Based on the performance of
its GeoAI business and continued improvements in profitability, WAVUS plans to
establish a mid- to long-term capital allocation framework and implement
shareholder return policies in phases.
“WAVUS is at a
pivotal point in its transformation from a traditional geospatial solutions
provider into a leading company in GeoAI and physical AI platforms,” said WAVUS
co-CEOs Kim Hak-sung and Park Chang-hoon.
“We will make
every effort to ensure that the company receives a fair re-evaluation of its
corporate value and that this is ultimately translated into share price
appreciation.”
The strategy is significant
in that WAVUS plans to enhance its corporate value by advancing its business
structure around AI agents and GeoAI platforms, while simultaneously
commercializing the outcomes of government-funded R&D projects and pursuing
shareholder return policies.
